Simon’s early career in Asia was spent with the Royal Hong Kong Police, where he worked as Detective Inspector in the Commercial Crime Bureau as well as a Team Leader in VIP Protection unit. He then worked as an Operations Manager for a HK based export business, where he focused on opening new offices and managing supply and quality issues across Southern China.
After moving to Japan, he co-founded CDS, a Tokyo based executive search firm, which he later sold to Recruit Inc. – Japan and Asia’s largest recruiting and HR Services group – in December, 2007. He was listed in Business Week as one of the World’s Top 100 Head-hunters in an article published in January, 2009.
Simon relocated back to HK in January 2010 as a Managing Director with RGF; the global name for Recruit. He spent several years building a start-up business for RGF and developed the relationship with China’s largest recruiting business, Bo Le Associates, into which he merged RGF HK’s business. He then spent a year in Mumbai to facilitate the integration efforts into RGF of the Stanton Chase franchise; India’s largest and most successful high-end, search business.
His current roles with ENRG are M&A focused, coupled with some other strategic and recruiting initiatives for RGF and other clients.
Simon is originally from England. He has a BA in History from the University of East Anglia, a Diploma in Business Administration from Henley Management College and further qualifications in Leadership from Oxford University (Said School of Business), Cornell University and HKUST.
In his free time, Simon trains for endurance events and has participated in numerous marathons, triathlons and long distance treks.
Pang has 10 years Executive Search experience in the UK and across Asia. He has covered a number of sectors from real estate to technology and consumer. Pang was one of the first 3 employees when RGF, the global name used by Recruit Holdings (Asia’s largest recruiting and human resources group), began their HK operations in early 2010. As part of the acquisition of Bo Le Associates in 2011, Pang moved into Bo Le’s HK offices and worked there as a Senior Consultant until December 2013.
After a short sabbatical, Pang joined Reccelerate Hong Kong in a leadership role and he is responsible for driving talent acquisition across Asia through key Rec2Rec activities. Pang speaks fluent Cantonese, native level English and passable Mandarin. He is passionate about networking and getting the right talent in the right place at the right time. In his free time, Pang is a keen amateur photographer, and enjoys travelling.
Kai began her career in executive search with Webbe International, where she was responsible for the company’s execution of search requirements across Asia Pacific in the Investment Banking and Private Equity sector. She then joined Agilis, a Rec2Rec company, where she focused on data and industry research, formulating sourcing strategies, sourcing candidates, candidate screening and interview, client & candidate management, shortlist candidate presentation, final offer negotiation and reference check.
Kai then took on a challenging role through Alexander Mann Solutions in Credit Suisse’ Lateral Recruitment team, and covered IB Operations in APAC. In her current role, Kai heads retained research and market mapping projects for recruitment industry and corporate clients.
Ryan is an experienced Communications and Learning & Development professional with over 18 years’ experience in the media and executive search industries in the region. He is a licensed Client Mastery facilitator for the Recruiting Training and Executive Search Best Practices Program of Next Level Exchange, the world’s largest training firm exclusive to the recruiting industry with over 1000 clients in 30 countries.
Prior to joining the ENRG team, Ryan spent 15 years at executive search firm Bó Lè Associates in Hong Kong, where he took charge of both communication support and Learning & Development, and helped develop and implement the company’s in-house training program from scratch. He has conducted hundreds of workshops to equip researchers and consultants with foundational skills in Research, Mapping, Candidate/Client Development and Management, Qualifying and Assessment, Offer Negotiation, among others.
Before moving to Hong Kong in 2001, Ryan wrote for BusinessWorld, the Philippines’ leading business newspaper, for three years. An avid basketball fan, he loves to write about the sport in his spare time and continues to play competitively in various recreational leagues.
Zeph is a seasoned HR professional with over 25 years of experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, over a wide spectrum of HR practices, with a focus on Recruitment, Human Resources Development/ Learning & Development and Organization Development. He has joined the ENRG team as an Advisor, helping us build a business with corporates, seeking to hire and train in house talent acquisition people.
Up until recently he was working with Expedia Asia Pacific Limited in a dual role as Head of Talent Acquisition and Management for the APAC region, as well as HR Lead for North Asia.
Prior to that he was the Asia Pacific Regional Human Resources Business Partner for Investment Banks such as ABN AMRO and UBS Private Banking Business, and has had close to 20 years of broad commercial experience with investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Jardine Fleming, as well as with Telecom companies and various human resources-related consulting firms.
Besides organizational consulting works done for clients, Zeph has also undertaken individual executive coaching for high potentials and middle management-level executives, in the areas of leadership development, career transitioning/outplacement and interpersonal/communication skills development.
Zeph carries with him several recognized accreditations including DiSC and PDP, and has leveraged these psychometric tools successfully in recruitment and in many of his teambuilding and communication workshops. He is an enthusiastic facilitator who is able to relate to audiences of all levels and cultural backgrounds. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
